Moving Rates

Many people who move for the first time wonder exactly how movers charge for their services. Here's an overview of the moving rates at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Omaha.
Local Moves
For local moves, we offer hourly services. Moves are billed at an hourly rate, plus a one-time fuel surcharge. This includes everything that movers need, such as dollies, truck, pads, straps or any other equipment.
Packing
Packing is billed at an hourly rate. All the boxes and materials needed to pack an entire home or business are available for purchase at our office. We can even deliver them to you! We can pack one box, or the entire home or business. All items that we pack are insured by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Omaha. All items that are packed on your own are not covered.
Load or Unload Only
Loading and unloading services are billed at an hourly rate. We offer loading and unloading of trucks, for example, should you be moving out of state. Pads and straps should be rented from your rental truck location. Stretch wrap is provided by us as part of your load/unload service.
Tariff Moves
For moves 5 to 15 miles outside the city limits of Omaha, we charge an hourly rate from load to unload. There are empty truck and fuel charges for the miles driven. The liability coverage available for this area is $.60 per pound, per article. (Because of the complexity of tariff regulations, please contact our office for further details.)
Long-Distance Moves
Intrastate Moves – These are in-state moves that occur beyond a distance of 15 miles from city to city. For these moves, the Nebraska Public Service Commission has provided a weight-distance charges chart that shows how much is to be charged per 100 pounds. This rate varies according to each weight/distance bracket.
Interstate Moves – For long-distance moves outside of Nebraska, we offer a binding estimate. Another thing to keep in mind is that we offer an expedited service. This means we load only your boxes on the truck, drive them directly to your new location and unload them. The same friendly movers who load your items will carefully unload them. Most long-distance movers load your items along with others' and bounce around the country until they get to your unload destination – possibly weeks later. They may also drop your belongings into storage until someone else comes along to grab and deliver them.
Now that you know how our pricing works, find out how much it would cost to make your move easier.
